Quick Summary (Not a Substitute for the Full Policies)
- Digital goods. Everything we sell is delivered by download. Nothing ships physically.
- Refunds. Because products are digital and delivered instantly, we generally don't offer refunds — but we honor a 7-day refund window, handled case by case, and we take care of you if something's genuinely wrong.
- Your data. We collect what we need to run the shop and the email list — your email, order details, and basic site-usage data. We use Shopify, Kit (email), ThriveCart, Google Analytics, and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising.
- Your California rights. If you're a California resident, you can ask us what we've collected, ask us to delete it, and opt out of "sharing" for targeted advertising. See the Privacy Policy.
- Ownership. Our templates are licensed to you for your own use. You can't resell, redistribute, or repackage them.
- Age. You must be 18+ to purchase. The Site is intended for adults running productions, not for children as end users.
Refund Policy
Our products are delivered by internet download only. After your purchase is approved, we process your order — typically within one (1) hour, though it can take up to twenty-four (24) hours. Once processed, you'll receive a confirmation email at the address you provided at checkout. That email is your electronic receipt and generally contains the information you need to access your download.
Downloads from our servers are monitored to make sure you can successfully access your products. We allow a reasonable number of downloads, but we reserve the right to terminate access in cases of download abuse.
Our refund commitment
We stand behind our products, and your satisfaction matters to us. Because our products are digital goods delivered by download, we generally offer no refunds once a product has been downloaded.
That said, we honor a 7-day refund window. Refund requests must be made within seven (7) days of your original purchase by emailing hello@theaterish.com. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and granted at our discretion.
If something is genuinely wrong — a broken file, a download that won't open, a product that isn't what was described — tell us and we'll make it right, whether that means a fix, a replacement, or a refund.
Duplicate purchases and technical issues
If you were accidentally charged twice, or a technical problem on our end prevented delivery, contact us and we'll resolve it promptly regardless of the 7-day window.
Chargebacks
If you have a problem with an order, please contact us first at hello@theaterish.com — we're responsive and we'll work with you. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us may result in removal from our email list and a block on future purchases.
Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Theaterish LLC collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use Theaterish.com, buy our products, or join our email list.
Theaterish LLC is a United States limited liability company, and this policy is written primarily under U.S. law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA"). If you are in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, or another region with its own data-protection laws, the "International Users" section below describes additional rights that may apply to you.
By using the Site or providing us your information, you confirm you are at least 18 years old, or that you are using the Site under the supervision of a parent or guardian who agrees to this policy on your behalf.
Contact: Theaterish LLC — hello@theaterish.com
Please keep your information current. If anything changes, email us at hello@theaterish.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
Information you give us directly
- Contact and account data — your name and email address when you subscribe, download a free resource, or contact us.
- Order data — items purchased, purchase amounts, and transaction history. Payment card details are handled by our payment processors (see below); we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications — anything you send us by email, contact form, or social media, kept for support and record-keeping.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage and device data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, links clicked, referring pages, time spent on the Site, and general location inferred from IP. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy) and through analytics providers.
Information from third parties
- We receive data from service providers such as Shopify (storefront and checkout), Kit / ConvertKit (email), ThriveCart (course and bundle delivery and checkout), Google Analytics, and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising — including engagement and conversion data used to measure and target our marketing.
A note on "sensitive information"
We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal information (such as government IDs, financial account numbers beyond what our processors handle, health data, or precise geolocation). Please don't send us this kind of information. If you contact us and voluntarily include it, we'll use it only to respond to you.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- process and deliver your orders and provide download access;
- send you the emails and free resources you signed up for, and market related products (you can opt out anytime);
- respond to your questions and provide customer support;
- operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site and our products;
- measure and improve our marketing, including through analytics and advertising platforms;
- keep records and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations; and
- detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
4. How We Share Your Information — and "Selling"/"Sharing"
We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers who operate the business on our behalf — for example Shopify, Kit/ConvertKit, ThriveCart, Google, and Meta — under agreements that limit their use of the data to providing services to us.
- Advertising and analytics partners. We use Google Analytics and Meta advertising tools that may set cookies and receive usage data to measure our marketing and show you relevant ads on other platforms. Under California law, this kind of cross-context behavioral advertising can be considered "sharing" (and in some cases a "sale") of personal information, even though we don't sell your data for money in the ordinary sense.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect our rights, property, and safety or that of others.
- Business transfers — if we sell, merge, or transfer part of the business, your information may be part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not knowingly share the personal information of anyone under 16 for cross-context behavioral advertising.
You can opt out of this "sharing"/"sale" — see the California section below, and use the cookie controls described in our Cookie Policy.
5. Email Marketing (U.S. — CAN-SPAM)
We may send you marketing emails if you've bought from us, requested a free resource, or subscribed. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link and our physical mailing address, and we honor unsubscribe requests promptly. You can also opt out anytime by emailing hello@theaterish.com. Opting out of marketing doesn't stop essential transactional messages, such as order confirmations and download links.
6. Data Retention
We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, including to provide ongoing product updates to past customers, and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. U.S. tax rules generally require us to keep basic transaction records for several years. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, and we rely on reputable processors (Shopify, Kit, ThriveCart, and our payment providers) that maintain their own security programs. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we'll notify you and any regulator as required by law.
8. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know / access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we've collected about you.
- Delete personal information we've collected, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
How to exercise these rights: email hello@theaterish.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." To opt out of advertising-related "sharing," you can also decline non-essential cookies through the cookie banner on our Site and enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, which we treat as a valid opt-out signal.
We'll verify your request using the email address and order information associated with your account, and we'll respond within the timeframes required by law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with proper authorization.
The categories of personal information we collect, our purposes, and the categories we "share" are described in Sections 2–4 above.
9. Your Other State Privacy Rights
Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (for example Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana) may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising. To exercise any such right, email hello@theaterish.com and we'll honor rights that apply to you.
10. International Users (UK / EEA and Others)
Theaterish is based in the United States, and your information is processed in the U.S. If you're in the UK or EEA, we rely on lawful bases including your consent (for marketing), performance of your purchase contract, and our legitimate interests in operating and growing the business. You may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these, email hello@theaterish.com. If you're unhappy with our response, you may contact your local data-protection authority.
When we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards where required, such as standard contractual clauses used by our processors.
11. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults (18+) running theatre productions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and our products are not designed to collect information from children as end users. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, email hello@theaterish.com and we'll delete it.
12. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites and services we don't control. This policy doesn't cover their practices — please review their privacy policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and we'll update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
Terms and Conditions
Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using Theaterish.com. By using the Site or buying our products, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted, and your continued use means you accept them.
1. Who We Are
The Site and its content are owned by Theaterish LLC ("Company," "we," "us"). "You" means the user or purchaser.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase from or enter into these Terms with us. The Site is intended for adults; our products are tools for the adult running a production (an educator, director, stage manager, or camp leader), not for children as end users. If you're using the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you're authorized to accept these Terms for it.
3. Our Content and Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — text, design, layout, graphics, images, templates, documents, and other materials (the "Content") — is owned by Theaterish LLC or its licensors and is protected by U.S. copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. The Theaterish name, logo, and wordmark are our trademarks.
4. Your License to Use Our Products
When you purchase a Theaterish product, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use it for your own theatre-production work — your own school, camp, company, or productions. This includes making copies and printouts as reasonably needed to run your own productions, and using the templates with the students, cast, crew, and volunteers involved in your productions.
You may not:
- resell, sublicense, redistribute, or give away the products or templates;
- repackage or incorporate them into a product or service you sell;
- claim them as your own work or remove our notices;
- post the source files publicly or share them in a way that lets others obtain them without purchasing; or
- use them for any unlawful purpose.
If you'd like to use our Content beyond this license — for example commercially, or to share with a wider group outside your own productions — email hello@theaterish.com for written permission first.
Product updates: we provide updates to templates you've purchased, at no additional charge, as part of your license.
5. Free Resources
Free templates and lead magnets are provided under the same license terms above: for your own production use, not for resale or redistribution.
6. Your Submissions
If you send us comments, reviews, testimonials, images, or other content, you confirm you own or have the right to share it and that you're at least 18. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with our business (for example, publishing a testimonial you send us), and to identify you as its author by name or screen name. We're not obligated to use any submission and may stop using it at any time.
7. Purchases and Digital Delivery
Products are delivered digitally by download. When you buy, you agree to provide accurate information and to be financially responsible for the purchase. Purchases are handled through our checkout and payment providers (such as Shopify and ThriveCart), which have their own terms and privacy practices. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy above.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to:
- use it for fraudulent or illegal purposes;
- upload or transmit anything unlawful, defamatory, abusive, infringing, or harmful, including malware;
- disrupt or attempt to disrupt the Site's operation or security; or
- copy, scrape, resell, or exploit any part of the Site or Content contrary to these Terms.
9. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
We respect intellectual-property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice to hello@theaterish.com with: a description of the work, the location of the material on our Site, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief that the use isn't authorized, a statement (under penalty of perjury) that your notice is accurate and you're authorized to act, and your physical or electronic signature. We will respond to valid notices as required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
10. Disclaimers
Our Site and products are provided for informational and educational purposes to help you run your productions. They are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Site or products will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, though we work to keep them reliable. See the full Disclaimer below.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Theaterish LLC and its owners, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site or products. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a product will not exceed the amount you paid for that product.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Theaterish LLC and its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site or Content or your breach of these Terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or products at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms. The provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina and applicable United States law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in North Carolina.

What cookies are
A cookie is a small file stored on your device that helps a website remember your actions and preferences, understand how the site is used, and support advertising and analytics. Cookies don't harm your device, and nearly every website uses them.
How we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Run the Site (strictly necessary). These enable core functions like checkout and cannot be turned off.
- Measure performance (analytics). Google Analytics helps us understand traffic, popular pages, and how to improve the Site.
- Remember preferences (functionality). These remember choices to improve your experience.
- Advertising. Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google tools help us measure our marketing and show relevant ads on other platforms. These may involve the "sharing" of usage data described in our Privacy Policy.
Cookies may be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (kept until they expire or you delete them). Some cookies are set by third parties such as Google and Meta, which we don't control.
Your choices
You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through the cookie banner on our Site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and enable Global Privacy Control (GPC), which we treat as a valid opt-out of advertising-related "sharing." Blocking all cookies (including essential ones) may prevent parts of the Site from working, including checkout.
For more on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
